Rebecca Neel
My research seeks to understand stigma and prejudice, intergroup interaction, emotion perception, social motivation, and sustainability-related behavior. Most of my work adopts a functional, affordance-based lens to understand these phenomena. For example, some of my work shows that people manage stigma by using strategies tailored to the specific threats they are stereotyped to pose.
